  1. Had a nice Saraswati Puja

February 8, 2011 by Sunit Nandi

So guys, today we had a nice Saraswati Puja at school. It was really good, but I ran missed some important things. I couldn’t see the idol because it was really crowded. On top of that, I couldn’t eat the khichdi bhog properly because of the crowd (again!). However, I was very happy that I could atleast meet my friends. And about the food? I had khichdi again at IIT’s Saraswati Puja.

  2. After a long pause

August 1, 2010 by Sunit Nandi

So guys, I was away for a very long time because I did not get time to do most of my activities on the web. My holidays started at the beginning of this month, but preparations for exams at Brilliant Tutorials took up half of the month. Then the rest half of the month was used up by catching up with Brilliant syllabus. The exams results were not good. So the entire holidays appear to be wasted up to nothing. No travelling, no shopping, blah blah blah…..

Just a week is left for the school to start. Hopefully, something nice may come up. I have completed building the family website and also put a new and simple theme on my blog which looks great with my verbose typing.

At this moment I am eagerly trying to get my HTC Tattoo to get access to the web, without any appreciated results. Just hope that it will be fine in a couple of days. I have tried transparent proxies but they are hard to set up and I am at it.

I also wanted to set up a networking site for my school friends, but my partner in this venture is not responding to my requests and his phone isn’t working as well.

All in all, everything is in a mess. Just hope that everything will be fine soon.

Ok time to go. Will write again.

  3. Finally, the Photo Album migration has started!

April 25, 2010 by Sunit Nandi

Finally, I found our family photos CD-ROM. So I am now uploading all photos to our new photo album host. Very soon, I hope to see it LIVE!

  4. Why I am not on Twitter

August 30, 2009 by Sunit Nandi

Many of my friends have requested my several times to join Twitter. But I have refused every time, because I have no plans to join Twitter.

Well, why do we all need Twitter for? To broadcast our activity updates to the world? To catch up with celebs? To comment to nonsensical stuff? Well, I am surely into none of such business.

Also, I can do most such stuff of Facebook and on this blog. Facebook allows me to update my status just like Twitter does and my blog allows me to talk with the rest of the world. I can do pretty much of the things here as I would have done on Twitter. Also many celebrities do have their personal blogs here and there.

So please do not force me to join any new social networking site or Twitter because I am pretty satisfied. Also, I do not want to fill up my inbox with junk I don’t want to receive.

If you wish to make me read you blog or status updates, just send a trackback or linkback to any of my latest posts, and I will hop in to read. But do not expect me to register there.

Anyway, life’s as usual. Seeya soon!

  5. Lots to do, lots to say!

July 23, 2009 by Sunit Nandi

Hello everyone! I am back after a long time to write something. So my post today will be quite long, you see.

    Relatives visit our place!

In the middle of June, my relatives came to visit us. We had quite a nice time with them and went on an outing to nearby destinations. I went with them to Hajo and had fun visiting the same places again! However, my digital camera started malfunctioning and I could not take any photos on the return journey. Other than that it was great fun.

    1st Practice Test comes up

After my relatives left, the practice tests came up and had to study a lot. I gave my exams very well and hope to make a good score. The results shall be given in August.

    Yay! Summer Holidays!

Now summer holidays are going on. This summer I have lesser homework because I am in class 10 and the teachers want us to put our holidays to study. So be it! I am feeling happier.

Also, we went to our hometown on 13th July. I enjoyed a lot there. It was raining almost every day there and I was having fun getting wet. I also went to stay for a few days in my mom’s cousin’s place. She is pretty good cook and I sat on the chair licking my fingers after wonderful meals :P. My dad did not wish to stay disconnected with his workplace, so he bought a Photon+ wireless broadband service to stay connected. It wasn’t that fast in my hometown, because its a tourist location. But when I was back home, it seemed to be faster than my DSL line.

Now I am back home, writing this stuff and trying to complete all my homework. I have updated the main web site and I am trying to put a new blog theme. I plan to finish all my homework and make a little discussion forum for my school friends.

    Important Info:

By the way, how are you all, readers? I wish to notify that our site URLs have changed. The Nandi Family site is now available at and Sunit’s Life at

I think its enough for today. Have to go back to work.

Take care. Will write again soon!

  6. Main site finally updated and my browser upgraded to IE8

May 10, 2009 by Sunit Nandi

I have finally updated the Nandi Family site and it seems to be complete. I just have to add a few pics, if necessary. Also, I have added a new album to the photo gallery about the Class 9 excursion. Hope you had a look at it.

Also, I am installing Internet Explorer 8, which I think is the latest one released by Microsoft.

Other than that, I downloaded a few games for my smartphone, especially the entire Need For Speed series and Dogz 2. I will be playing about in my free time.

Ok for now, seeya next time!

  7. Nandi Family site is undergoing rebuilding

April 17, 2009 by Sunit Nandi

Now my second Bihu holidays are going on, so I am taking the task of rebuilding the sites. I have changed my blog theme am now using DokuWiki as a script to maintain the main site. So much work is underway.

Please wish me good luck so that I can finish my work by Sunday.

  8. New year 2009 countdown

December 30, 2008 by Sunit Nandi

With only a few moments left for this year to end. I am looking back and reflecting how nice and wonderful moments occured in my life. With just a day more for this year, I can feel that New Year is not just an occassion for enjoyment and merry making but also a sad reminder about how time in our lives is passing away, each and every second at a time. We do not live forever. Thinking of this I put this countdown widget, to count each and every second that passes by until the new year.

    Some things to notify:
    • I have added a link to my friend, Lavanya’s blog. Do give it a visit.
    • This is probably my last post for 2008. See you again in 2009. My Unit Tests are near so I may not be able to devote much time to writing.

See ya all later. And do comment!

  9. IIT club releases it first children's e-magazine

November 23, 2008 by Sunit Nandi

Nice to write again. This time, I would like to say that the IIT club has started an e-magazine for children. The first issue has been been released and is named Kalarab: Random Thoughts. I am on of its board members. Since this magazine is purely for internal distribution in IITG, I can not circulate it on the public internet. However, it is available on IITG’s intranet. Very soon we would be thinking to distributing widely.

Anyway, I am perfectly alright. I also am thinking of making the Nandi Family‘s main website redone in a PHP Content Management System. If there is any good software to do this perfectly, please notify me. It will be a great help. You may either give me a comment on this post or a mail to webmaster(at) [replace (at) with @].

  10. Childrens' Day

November 17, 2008 by Sunit Nandi

We all had childrens’ day on November 14. I went to school thinking there would be some good programme. When I reached school, I was told that there would be no childrens’ day celebration. I was very sad. However, we had a wonderful poster making competition. Also, simultaneously, we had our music band play really good music. In the afternoon, we had a free lunch. In this way, I spent my day and quite liked it.

Today, on Monday, we saw a wonderful dance competition of the children on classes 4, 5 & 6. There were dances from various parts of India. We all really liked it.

No more today as I have to log off. Before that let me tell you that I and my friends have started a new website called Wiki Flight, which deals with aviation. Please do have a look!
